I love to paint 'alla prima' and enjoy trying to interpret many different subjects.Helen Cooper is on an intriguing path. She's been posting frequently to her Daily Painting blog since June 2011, and it's been fun to follow along and watch her increasing interest in novel painterly effects, including some abrupt dissolving of forms.
I'm a fan of both her still lifes and her quick portrait studies. Both subjects are painted decisively and with great energy. Here are my picks from her many small and lively Daily Paintings:
